Teaching Style

My teaching style is student centered with a project and inquiry-based learning approach. I try to present math with real world examples that allow students to think critically and discover the underlying math concepts. Working with other teachers allows students to see the uses of math outside of our classroom. Here are a few examples of projects and inquiry-based lessons I have done.

Video tutorials - Students picked different topics we had covered throughout the year and created their own video lesson. They had to create their own examples and problems for students to solve on their own.

Sport Science Project - A statistics project done in collaboration with the PE department. Students use data from their PE classes about different fitness measures and try to answer a statistical question using data analysis.

Writing Expressions w/ Steph Curry - This is an inquiry-based lesson I made where students use basketball to write their own expressions for calculating points scored.

Least Common Multiple - Another inquiry-based lesson I made where students find a way to use the least common multiple to solve a real life problem.
